This article will help you understand the causes of sagging neck skin and suggest practical, suitable solutions so you can choose the most effective way to tighten your neck skin .
How to tighten sagging neck skin at home and at a spa.
1. Perform exercises to help firm the skin on your neck.
Neck and chin exercises help increase muscle tone, improve skin elasticity, and reduce sagging.
-
Ceiling kisses: Tilt your head slightly back, purse your lips upwards towards the ceiling for about 5–10 seconds, repeat 10–15 times.
-
Neck rotation: Keeping your back straight, slowly rotate your neck from left to right to loosen the neck muscles.
-
Face yoga for the chin: Open your mouth into an "O" shape, hold for a few seconds, then relax. These simple movements help tighten sagging neck skin when performed regularly every day.
2. Use an anti-aging cream containing skin-firming ingredients.
Some ingredients have been shown in studies to support increased collagen production and improve skin elasticity in the neck and chin area.
-
Retinol: stimulates skin regeneration, helping the skin on the neck become smoother and firmer.
-
N-acetyl glucosamine: helps brighten and improve skin texture, suitable for people with dry or wrinkle-prone skin.
-
When applying the cream, massage in an upward direction to help gently lift the skin.
3. Consider non-invasive methods if your skin is significantly sagging.
When neck skin is noticeably loose, less invasive cosmetic techniques may yield faster results.
-
Botox: relaxes the platysma muscle bands, making the neck look smoother and slimmer.
-
Microneedling: creating tiny micro-injuries to stimulate the production of new collagen.
-
Ultherapy or HIFU: uses ultrasound energy to tighten the skin from within, suitable for mild to moderate sagging.
-
CoolSculpting: helps reduce double chin fat, resulting in a more defined jawline.
4. Consider jawline fillers for quick improvement.
According to dermatologists, including Dr. Ellen Turner, jawline filler injections help create a more defined chin, reduce sagging, and provide support for the neck skin.
-
The effects are clearly visible after the injection.
-
Suitable for people with thin skin, loss of elasticity, or a blurred jawline.
Secret 1: Exercises to reduce double chin and firm neck skin effectively
Exercise 1: Chin tucks help tighten the skin on the neck and firm the jawline.
1. Sit or stand upright to maintain a stable posture.
-
Keep your back straight and your neck straight.
-
Gently touch your index finger to your chin as a marker.
2. Slowly pull your head and neck backward.
-
Keep your finger in the same position.
-
Slowly move your head back to create a small gap between your chin and your fingers.
-
This exercise helps tighten the neck muscles and helps reduce sagging in the chin area.
3. Hold the position for about 10 seconds.
-
Breathe evenly, without tensing your shoulders.
-
Feel the muscles under your chin twitch slightly.
4. Return to the starting position to complete the process once.
-
Relax your neck slowly, avoiding sudden bending or flexing.
-
Perform 10 repetitions per set.
You can do this exercise 5–7 times a day to increase the effectiveness in firming the neck and chin area and improving sagging neck skin when done regularly.

Exercise 2: Ceiling kisses help tighten the skin on the neck and slim the chin area.
1. Sit or stand upright and tilt your head back towards the ceiling.
-
Keep your back straight and your shoulders relaxed.
-
Slowly tilt your head back to look up at the ceiling.
-
This posture activates the muscles under the chin and neck, helping to improve sagging neck skin.
2. Pucker your lips as if to "kiss the ceiling."
-
He pursed his lips as if he were kissing, making a face that slightly resembled a "fish face".
-
Hold for 5–10 seconds to gently tighten the muscles of the lips, chin, and neck.
3. Relax and repeat the movement.
-
Relax your face for a few seconds.
-
Repeat this process continuously to complete one round.
You should do 15 repetitions per session and repeat twice a day . Consistency will help firm the neck and chin area, reduce sagging neck skin , and enhance jawline definition.

Exercise 3: Sticking out your tongue helps tighten the chin muscles and firm the neck skin.
1. Look straight ahead and open your mouth wide.
-
Keep your back and neck straight so that the muscles in your chin area are functioning properly.
-
Open your mouth as wide as possible, but still feel comfortable.
-
This is a preparatory step to help stretch the muscles under the chin.
2. Stick your tongue out as far as you can until you feel the tension.
-
Stick your tongue out as far as you can.
-
When you feel a slight tension in your chin and neck area, that means you're doing it correctly.
-
This exercise helps increase muscle strength and reduce the feeling of sagging skin on the neck.
3. Hold your tongue in that position for 10 seconds, then release.
-
Breathe evenly to avoid fatigue.
-
Relax your tongue and close your mouth to complete one repetition.
You should do this 10 times a day to help firm the neck and chin area and improve skin elasticity.

Exercise 4: Neck rotations help to soften muscles and reduce sagging neck skin.
1. Sit or stand upright, slightly lowering your chin to touch your chest.
-
Keep your back straight so your neck can rotate within the correct range of motion.
-
Gently lower your chin to your chest, without tensing your shoulders.
-
This posture helps stretch the neck muscles before rotation.
2. Rotate your neck in a clockwise circle.
-
Rotate slowly, evenly, and without jerking.
-
Keep your shoulders relaxed throughout the entire rotation.
-
These exercises help to soften the neck muscles, improve blood circulation, and reduce tension that can cause neck skin to sag.
3. Complete one spin to count once.
-
When the rotation returns to the original chin-down position, you have completed one repetition.
-
Perform 10 repetitions daily to increase flexibility and help tone the neck and chin area.

Exercise 5: Pouting helps tighten the chin muscles and slightly lift the corners of the mouth.
1. Make a very clear "pouting face" expression.
-
Lower the corners of your mouth as much as possible to create a posing look.
-
Keep your back straight and your face relaxed; do not involve any part of your body in the movement.
-
When done correctly, you will feel the muscles around your chin and the corners of your mouth begin to work.
2. Maintain the position until you feel tension.
-
Continue holding the pouting position until you feel a slight stretch in the area between your chin and the base of your nose.
-
This indicates that the muscle group is being activated to help firm the neck skin and tighten the chin area.
3. Hold for 5 seconds, then release to complete one repetition.
-
Breathe evenly, avoiding tensing your neck or cheeks.
-
Relax all facial muscles after each exercise to avoid muscle fatigue.
You should do this 10 times a day to help improve the elasticity of the chin and mouth area and support a more natural, relaxed smile.

Exercise 6: Neck lifts help increase neck muscle strength and support the improvement of sagging neck skin.
1. Lie on your back on the bed, letting your head hang slightly over the edge of the mattress.
-
Keep your shoulders and upper back completely flat on the bed.
-
Let your head hang down slightly and naturally, without tensing your neck.
-
This posture helps to properly activate the anterior neck muscles.
2. Slowly lift your head using your neck muscles.
-
Do not use force from your shoulders or back; lift your head using only your neck muscles.
-
Perform the exercise slowly to avoid sudden muscle strain.
-
When lifted correctly, you will feel a slight tension running along the neck and chin area.
3. Hold for a few seconds, then lower your head to complete one repetition.
-
Breathe evenly while holding the pose.
-
Lower your head slowly, avoiding a hard fall that could cause neck pain.
You should do this exercise 5 times per session, 1-2 sessions per day , and stop immediately if you feel neck pain. This exercise helps increase support for the neck area, helping to prevent neck skin sagging when performed regularly and with correct technique.

Exercise 7: Chewing helps to firm the area under the chin and helps reduce sagging skin on the neck.
1. Sit or stand upright and tilt your head back to look at the ceiling.
-
Keep your back straight and your shoulders relaxed.
-
Tilt your chin towards the ceiling to stretch your neck muscles and activate the area under your chin.
-
This posture helps the exercise directly target the muscle group that causes a double chin.
2. Close your lips and perform a slow "chewing" motion.
-
Keep your lips closed but relaxed, not tightly pressed together.
-
Make chewing movements for 2–3 seconds at a time.
-
When done correctly, you will feel your jaw muscles and the area under your chin gently working, helping to firm sagging neck skin.
3. Lower your head back to the starting position to complete one repetition.
-
Return to a neutral position slowly to avoid straining your neck muscles.
-
Repeat the movement to complete the set number of repetitions.
You should do this 20 times a day to increase the effectiveness of tightening the chin and neck area and help to clarify the jawline over time.

Exercise 8: Face yoga “The Coronation” helps lift the chin and improve neck posture.
1. Sit or stand upright, keeping your head balanced.
-
Place a light object, such as a book, on top of your head to help your body adjust to a neutral position.
-
Keep your shoulders relaxed and your back straight.
-
Proper posture helps to lengthen the neck and reduce the habit of hunching over when using screens – a cause of sagging neck skin.
2. Smile broadly but without squinting.
-
Create the biggest smile possible, using only the muscles around your mouth.
-
Avoid tensing your brow or squinting to prevent creating unnecessary wrinkles.
-
This exercise helps activate the muscles that lift the chin and the anterior neck muscles.
3. Hold for 5–10 seconds, then release to complete one repetition.
-
Breathe evenly and maintain a natural, upright posture.
-
Completely relax your face before repeating.
You can do 10 repetitions per session and practice 1–2 sessions per day . This exercise helps improve posture, making the neck appear longer and slightly lifting the chin area, suitable for people who frequently bend their heads to work in front of a screen.

Secret 2: Natural tips to slim the chin and tighten the neck skin.
Tip 1: Maintaining a healthy weight helps reduce a double chin and improve neck skin.
1. Maintain a stable weight through healthy eating habits.
-
Prioritize plain water over soft drinks or sugary beverages.
-
Limit your intake of fried foods, fast food, and snacks high in salt and sugar.
-
Supplement your diet with foods rich in good quality protein, such as yogurt, fish, chicken, and eggs, to support muscle growth.
-
Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, healthy fats (avocado, nuts, olive oil), and whole grains such as potatoes, cereals, and legumes.
-
Focus on eating enough – eat a balanced diet , avoid fasting or extreme calorie restriction as this can harm your health and skin.
2. Listen to your body instead of counting calories.
-
Eat when you're truly hungry, and stop when you feel full.
-
Prioritize foods that keep you feeling full for longer: green vegetables, fruits, sweet potatoes, and oatmeal.
-
This habit helps maintain a stable weight without forcing yourself.
3. Increase regular exercise to reduce overall body fat.
-
Physical activity helps reduce fat accumulation in the chin area naturally (because it's impossible to reduce fat in that specific area).
-
Each week, try to achieve achievable goals:
-
Approximately 150 minutes of light to moderate physical activity such as brisk walking, cycling, or swimming.
-
This includes two strength training sessions to keep muscles toned, helping to make the neck and chin look slimmer.
-
-
If you are of school age, activities such as jump rope, running, and school sports are all very beneficial.
4. Develop a habit of getting enough sleep and reduce screen time.
-
Lack of sleep and constantly bending your head down can make your neck look more saggy.
-
Maintaining good posture and getting enough sleep can help the skin on your neck look healthier and firmer.

Tip 2: Warm massage on the neck helps increase circulation and supports skin firming.
1. Prepare the massage oil and gently warm it up.
-
Choose a suitable oil such as almond oil, wheat germ oil, or olive oil.
-
Warm a small amount in the microwave for a few seconds (just warm, not hot).
-
Warm oil helps to soften the skin and increase its ability to absorb nutrients.
2. Perform massage using the correct technique to help tighten the skin on the neck.
-
Tilt your head slightly to allow your neck to stretch naturally.
-
Using your knuckles, gently stroke from the chin down to the collarbone , in a downward direction.
-
Perform the movements steadily for 3–5 minutes to stimulate blood circulation and aid lymphatic drainage.
-
This habit helps the neck area look healthier, brighter, and firmer over time.
3. Benefits of each type of oil commonly used for the neck area
-
Almond oil : rich in vitamin E, it helps nourish the skin and improve elasticity, making the skin on the neck look firmer.
-
Wheat germ oil : also rich in vitamin E, it contributes to increased firmness and helps to smooth the skin on the neck.
-
Olive oil : rich in antioxidants, provides excellent moisturizing properties, and is suitable for dry or wrinkle-prone skin.
4. Neck massagers can be used, but their effectiveness varies depending on individual physiology.
-
Some massage devices are advertised as helping to reduce double chin or tighten neck skin.
-
However, its effectiveness has not been clearly proven. Proper manual massage remains a safe and easy option to perform at home.

Tip 3: Cucumber mask helps soothe and improve the elasticity of the neck skin.
1. Why is cucumber often used for neck skin?
-
Because it contains a lot of water, it helps to cool and moisturize the skin quickly.
-
Vitamin C helps stimulate collagen production – a crucial factor in keeping the skin on the neck firm.
-
Helps soothe dry, tired, or wrinkled skin.
2. How to make a simple cucumber face mask at home
-
Puree a few slices of fresh cucumber.
-
Mix the pureed cucumber with plain yogurt to create a slightly thick mixture.
-
Apply evenly to the neck area and leave on for about 20 minutes .
-
Rinse with cool water to soothe and tighten the skin.
3. Realistic expectations when using a cucumber face mask
-
Natural face masks help to cool, nourish, and support skin elasticity.
-
However, homemade mixtures often don't penetrate deeply enough and are unlikely to produce noticeable changes to sagging neck skin.
-
However, they are safe, easy to do, and can be added to your skincare routine to make your neck skin healthier and brighter.

Tip 4: Banana mask for neck skin helps soften and provides antioxidant support.
1. How to make a simple banana face mask at home
-
Mash a piece of ripe banana until smooth.
-
Add a few drops of lemon juice to enhance its brightening and gentle cleansing properties.
-
Apply the mixture to the neck area for 15 minutes .
-
Rinse with cool water.
-
It can be used once or twice a week as an additional skincare step.
2. The effects of bananas on neck skin
-
Bananas are rich in antioxidants , which help protect the skin from aging factors.
-
The nutrients in bananas help keep skin soft and smooth and may contribute to the skin's ability to produce collagen more easily.
-
Banana leaves or peels are often shared on social media, but their effectiveness in "wrinkle removal and skin lifting" has not been clearly confirmed by dermatologists.
3. Realistic expectations when using a banana face mask
-
A banana mask helps moisturize and soothe the skin on the neck, providing some support for sagging or dry, wrinkled skin.
-
However, natural masks often don't have a deep-acting effect , so they are unlikely to bring about noticeable changes if the skin on the neck is already significantly loose.
-
You can combine face masks with neck massage and chin exercises to enhance the overall skincare effect.

Tip 5: Drinking mineral water helps maintain healthy and elastic skin on the neck.
1. Mineral water can help improve skin health but doesn't noticeably tighten the skin on the neck.
-
Mineral water is rich in minerals and electrolytes, which are good for overall body hydration.
-
Some studies suggest that minerals may help maintain collagen , limiting its reabsorption into the bones.
-
However, the effect of tightening the neck skin or reducing sagging is often not as strong as many people expect.
2. How to use mineral water to support skincare
-
Replace a few glasses of plain water each day with mineral water to increase your body's mineral intake.
-
Mineral water provides better hydration due to its electrolyte content, supporting softer and healthier skin.
-
It can be used to wash your face or neck if you prefer a soothing sensation, but don't expect significant changes in skin firmness.
3. Things to note when choosing mineral water
-
Some types of mineral water have a high sodium content , making them unsuitable for people who need to restrict their salt intake.
-
If you are in your growing years, the most important thing is to drink enough water every day ; there's no need to force yourself to drink any particular kind of water.
4. Realistic Expectations
-
Mineral water is a good choice for keeping skin hydrated and healthy.
-
But to improve sagging neck skin , you should combine several methods: neck exercises, gentle massage, good posture habits, and regular skincare.

Tip 3: Top products for firming the skin on the neck and chin.
Top 1: Cream containing N-acetyl glucosamine helps firm the skin on the neck and improve elasticity.
1. Why is N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG) used in anti-aging creams for the neck area?
-
NAG is a form of glucosamine – a naturally occurring substance found in cartilage tissue.
-
When incorporated into cosmetics, NAG supports collagen production , improves skin texture, and reduces signs of aging.
-
Studies show that after about 16 weeks of use , the skin on the neck and upper chest becomes firmer, more even-toned, and has fewer wrinkles; in some cases, improvement is seen after only 8 weeks .
2. Practical benefits of using NAG-containing cream on the neck area
-
Skin looks firmer and younger thanks to increased elasticity.
-
Reduces skin redness and helps even out skin tone in the neck and décolleté area.
-
Helps to reduce the appearance of mild neck wrinkles and improve early signs of sagging skin.
3. Common concentrations and safety levels
-
The products typically contain a maximum of approximately 10% N-acetyl glucosamine .
-
This concentration is generally safe and unlikely to cause irritation.
-
Rare side effects such as mild redness or slight stinging usually resolve on their own as the skin adjusts.
4. How to use it to increase the effectiveness of neck skin tightening.
-
Apply the cream from bottom to top , and gently massage to help lift the skin.
-
Use every night , and it can be combined with a cream containing retinol or peptides (if suitable for your skin) to enhance the improvement of sagging neck skin.
-
Always use sunscreen on your neck during the day to protect collagen.

Top 2: Retinol helps increase collagen production and supports firming of the neck skin over time.
1. What effect does retinol have on sagging neck skin?
-
Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A that helps stimulate collagen production – a key factor in making the skin on the neck look firmer and more elastic.
-
While retinol doesn't penetrate deeply enough to create dramatic changes in severely loose skin, with regular use, the neck area can become smoother, have fewer wrinkles, and appear slightly firmer.
2. Realistic expectations when using retinol on the neck skin.
-
The effects usually appear gradually over several weeks to several months.
-
Skin can become brighter, more even-toned, and smoother thanks to the cell regeneration process.
-
This is one of the most extensively researched and reliable anti-aging ingredients.
3. Dermatologist's advice on how to get started with retinol
-
Doctors often recommend starting with a low concentration of retinol (the over-the-counter type) to allow the skin to gradually adjust.
-
Retinol can cause dryness, redness, or irritation in the first few weeks, so use it 1–2 times a week , then gradually increase the frequency as your skin tolerates it.
-
Once your skin adjusts, switching to a stronger concentration as directed by a professional may help increase the anti-aging effects.
4. How to safely use retinol to help tighten neck skin.
-
Apply a thin layer from bottom to top, avoiding the neck area if you have very sensitive skin.
-
Combine with a moisturizer to reduce dryness and irritation.
-
During the day, always use sunscreen on your neck to protect collagen and prevent premature aging.
-
If you're a teenager, prioritize using very mild concentrations and focus only on moisturizing and repairing the skin; strong products are unnecessary.

Secret 4: Non-surgical cosmetic solutions for removing a double chin.
Method 1: Botox helps to soften the neck muscles.
1. Why is Botox used for the neck area?
-
As the neck muscles weaken, the vertical muscle bands (platysmal bands) can become more prominent, giving the appearance of a "turkey neck".
-
Botox helps relax these muscle bands , making the neck area look smoother and less tense.
-
The effects are usually mild to moderate , not as drastic as surgery.
2. Realistic expectations when using botox for the neck.
-
The main improvement is in the smoothness and slight firmness of the neck skin.
-
Multiple regular treatment sessions are needed because the effects do not last long.
-
The degree of change varies depending on individual skin type and condition.
3. Important safety notes
-
Botox is a medical procedure and should only be performed by a qualified dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon .
-
Not suitable for persons under 18 years of age without parental consent and full professional evaluation.
-
Always consult your doctor before considering any invasive procedure, especially minimally invasive procedures like Botox.
4. When should you seek expert advice instead of trying to handle things yourself?
-
If the skin on the neck is significantly sagging, has a prominent band of muscle, or loses elasticity quickly.
-
If you are exploring cosmetic procedures, your doctor may suggest safer options that are more suitable for your age and skin condition.

Method 2: Laser resurfacing helps improve skin texture.
1. How does laser resurfacing work?
-
Lasers use thermal energy to remove the outermost layer of skin and stimulate the regeneration of new skin.
-
When collagen production increases, the skin under the chin and around the jawline can become smoother and more even-toned , helping the neck area look less wrinkled and less saggy.
-
This technology can also help fade scars and dark spots.
2. The effects are noticeable but come with a recovery period.
-
After treatment, the neck area may be red, sore, or irritated for weeks to months.
-
Potential risks include infection, and increased or decreased pigmentation if not properly cared for.
-
This is why laser resurfacing should only be performed at a reputable clinic under the supervision of a dermatologist.
3. Important notes regarding age and safety
-
Laser treatment is a specialized procedure and is not suitable for individuals under 18 unless specifically indicated by a doctor and with parental consent.
-
If you're looking to improve the skin on your neck as a teenager, gentler measures like moisturizing, massage, neck exercises, and sun protection will be safer and more appropriate.
4. Home-use devices cannot replace a clinic's laser machine.
-
At-home beauty devices only generate mild heat and are not powerful enough to regenerate skin like medical lasers.
-
Some products may help brighten and even out skin tone, but their lifting and firming effects are very limited.
-
Always check the safety and origin of equipment and only use devices that are appropriate for the child's age.

Method 3: Ultherapy helps tighten skin using ultrasound waves.
1. How does Ultherapy work?
-
This technology uses focused ultrasound waves to heat the deeper layers of the skin.
-
Maintaining a stable temperature within the skin tissue stimulates collagen production , resulting in firmer and fuller- looking skin in the neck and chin area over time.
-
Unlike surgery, ultherapy does not involve cutting or incisions ; it only uses energy to treat the condition.
2. Common treatment areas
-
Around the eyes, jawline, chin, cheeks, mouth, and especially the neck area .
-
These are areas prone to losing elasticity, so doctors often recommend Ultherapy as a supportive treatment.
3. Why is Ultherapy only suitable when examined by a doctor?
-
The intensity and depth of ultrasound energy must be precisely adjusted ; otherwise, it can cause pain or skin damage.
-
Results vary depending on individual body type and it takes time (several months) for new collagen to form.
-
This procedure is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age , unless specifically indicated by a doctor and with parental consent.
4. At-home ultherapy devices cannot replace professional machines.
-
Some devices sold on the market, although labeled as ultrasound, do not have enough energy to produce the same lifting and skin-tightening effects as medical-grade devices.
-
The ability to improve the appearance of the neck or double chin using at-home devices is currently unproven .
-
If you want to safely care for your neck skin as a teenager, prioritize gentle methods: moisturizing, massage, neck exercises, and sun protection.

Method 4: Filler injections in the neck and chin area can create fullness.
1. How do fillers work?
-
Fillers typically contain hyaluronic acid or collagen in injectable form.
-
When injected into the skin, fillers help increase volume , making the neck and chin area look smoother and reducing the appearance of sagging.
-
Additionally, fillers can create a sharper jawline and improve the shape of the chin.
2. Effectiveness and duration of effects
-
Results are seen almost immediately after injection, but are only temporary .
-
Depending on the type of filler, the effects can last from a few months to over a year.
-
To maintain it, you must get regular re-injections .
3. The procedure is quick but requires a specialist doctor.
-
This is a medical procedure , performed in a certified clinic.
-
The doctor will assess the structure of the neck and chin and inject the appropriate amount of filler.
-
The procedure is quick but still carries risks: swelling, bruising, or asymmetry if the injection is not performed correctly.
4. Important notes regarding age and safety levels
-
Fillers are not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age , except in special cases with medical indications and parental consent.
-
For young people, the neck and chin area is still in its natural state and does not require invasive procedures.
-
To safely care for the neck area during adolescence, prioritize: moisturizing, neck and chin exercises, gentle massage, and sun protection.

Method 5: Kybella is a method of dissolving chin fat using injections.
1. How does Kybella work?
-
The main ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid – a molecule the body naturally produces to break down fat.
-
When injected into the fat layer under the chin, this substance dissolves fat cells , making the chin area look slimmer and less chubby.
-
This method targets excess fat under the chin , not wrinkles or sagging skin.
2. Number of treatment sessions and expected outcomes
-
Typically, a maximum of 6 injections , spaced one month apart, are needed for optimal results.
-
The fat that is broken down will be gradually eliminated by the body, so the effects appear slowly.
-
Some people see noticeable improvement after just a few sessions.
3. This procedure should only be performed by a specialist doctor.
-
According to cosmetic surgeons, such as Dr. David Isaacs, Kybella must be prescribed and injected by a doctor because the risk of surgical error is very high.
-
Incorrect injection sites can cause: significant swelling, pain, bruising, temporary loss of sensation, or complications in the neck area.
-
This is absolutely not a method that can be done at home.
4. Important notes regarding age and safety
-
Kybella is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure and is not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age .
-
If you're a teenager and worried about a double chin, the causes are often: frequent head-down posture, lack of exercise, or weight changes during puberty.

Method 6: CoolSculpting cools the fat under the chin.
1. How does CoolSculpting work?
-
This is a technique for selectively freezing fat using a small device placed under the chin.
-
When fat is subjected to deep freezing, it gradually dies and is eliminated by the body over time.
-
After several treatment sessions, the chin area may appear slimmer due to the reduction in fat.
2. Process and Expected Outcomes
-
Each session typically lasts a short time and needs to be repeated as directed by the doctor.
-
The effects appear gradually over several weeks to several months.
-
This method targets subcutaneous fat and does not address the sagging neck skin caused by weak skin structure.
3. Important risks to be aware of: PAH
-
CoolSculpting can cause paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) – a rare but serious condition where fat does not disappear but instead grows larger after treatment.
-
PAH can cause a noticeable enlargement of the chin area and often requires medical intervention to treat.
-
Therefore, this procedure should only be performed at a reputable medical facility .
4. Notes on age and safety
-
CoolSculpting is a high-tech cosmetic procedure and is not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age .
-
In teenagers, a double chin often appears due to:
-
A frequently bent-over posture when using a phone.
-
Weight changes are a natural part of puberty.
-
Lack of exercise or insufficient sleep.
-
5. When should you consult a doctor?
-
CoolSculpting should only be considered in adulthood and after a doctor has assessed the condition of the fat under the chin and determined it is suitable for treatment.
-
If you are young, your doctor may recommend less invasive and safer methods.

Method 7: Microneedling stimulates skin regeneration.
1. How does microneedling work?
-
The doctor uses a device with many tiny needles to create micro-points on the skin's surface.
-
This stimulates the skin to repair itself and produce new collagen.
-
No injections are used; the skin is numbed with a topical anesthetic beforehand to minimize discomfort.
-
When the old skin peels off, the new skin that forms will be firmer and more elastic .
2. Potential benefits
-
Improves skin texture and smooths the neck and chin area.
-
Increases elasticity and helps reduce the feeling of mild neck sagging.
-
Results appear gradually after a few sessions, depending on each person's skin regeneration rate.
3. Microneedling combined with RF waves (radiofrequency microneedling)
-
The needle tips not only create micro-points but also deliver RF energy deep into the skin.
-
This energy warms the skin tissue , promoting stronger collagen production compared to conventional microneedling.
-
Often applied to skin with significant signs of aging or requiring a higher level of firmness improvement.
4. Risks and safety issues to be aware of.
-
The skin may be red, irritated, or slightly swollen for a few days.
-
If not properly cared for, there is a risk of infection or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
-
This is a procedure requiring medical expertise and should only be performed at reputable facilities.
5. Important note regarding age
-
Microneedling and RF microneedling are not suitable for people under 18 years of age .
-
In adolescence, the skin on the neck and face is healthy and naturally regenerates well, so invasive procedures are unnecessary and should not be attempted.

Tip 5: Neck lift and double chin removal surgery
Option 1: Facelift or neck lift surgery
1. What are face lift and neck lift?
-
Facelift and necklift are invasive cosmetic surgeries.
-
They are considered the most powerful solution for treating sagging skin, "turkey neck," double chin, or excess skin.
-
Results are usually seen immediately after surgery and are more noticeable than with any non-invasive method.
2. How does the surgery work?
-
The doctor makes delicate incisions around the ear or under the chin to best conceal the scar.
-
Excess skin and fat are removed.
-
The remaining skin, muscles, and tissues are stretched and tightened , creating a more defined and youthful neck and chin contour.
-
This is a surgery that requires anesthesia and a real recovery time.
3. Results and relevance
-
It offers the most powerful, long-lasting, and noticeable results among treatments for sagging neck skin.
-
Suitable for adults with severe signs of aging, significant excess skin, or prominent neck muscle bands.
-
Not suitable for young people or those seeking a gentle solution.
4. Safety and age issues
-
This is an invasive surgery and must be performed by a certified plastic surgeon.
-
Overall health, recovery time, and the risk of complications should be considered, just like with any other surgery.
-
Not suitable for people under 18 – teenagers have healthy, elastic skin and do not need invasive procedures like surgery.

Method 2: Chin tuck (submentoplasty)
1. What is Chin Tuck?
-
Chin tuck, or submentoplasty , is a cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin and fat under the chin to create a more streamlined neck and jawline.
-
This is considered a less invasive version of the neck lift because it doesn't tighten muscles or pull skin , but focuses on addressing excess tissue under the chin.
2. How does the procedure work?
-
Depending on the individual's condition, the doctor may remove excess tissue (excision) or use liposuction .
-
The goal is to make the jawline flatter and more defined , reducing the appearance of a double chin or loose skin.
3. Effectiveness and level of improvement
-
Chin tuck can be effective for both mildly sagging neck skin and a double chin .
-
The results are often more noticeable than with non-invasive methods but gentler than traditional neck lift surgery.
4. Age and safety
-
This is still an invasive procedure and must be performed by a cosmetic surgeon in a safe medical environment.
-
Like any surgical procedure, chin tuck has a recovery time and a risk of complications.
-
Not suitable for people under 18 , as the skin and tissues of teenagers are still very elastic and change naturally as they develop.
-
In teenagers, a double chin or sagging neck skin is often associated with a hunched posture, lack of exercise, or weight changes during rapid growth.

Method 3: Chin liposuction
1. What is chin liposuction?
-
This is a common cosmetic procedure that uses a specialized suction tube to remove subcutaneous fat from the chin, jawline, and neck area.
-
This method helps to slim and define the chin and jawline area, especially for adults with long-standing fat accumulation that is difficult to reduce through diet and exercise.
2. What does the process usually entail?
-
Doctors may inject a vasoconstrictor solution (similar to saline solution) into the fatty tissue to reduce bleeding and pain.
-
Then, the liposuction device will gently remove the excess fat through a very small incision.
-
Patients need time to recover and receive medical monitoring.
3. The real purpose of chin liposuction
According to plastic surgeons, such as Dr. Daniel Barrett:
-
Liposuction is not a weight loss method.
-
Suitable for adults who already have a healthy lifestyle but still have stubborn areas of fat that are difficult to improve.
4. Risks and safety issues
-
Although liposuction is a relatively common procedure, it still carries risks: swelling, bruising, infection, or asymmetry if performed incorrectly.
-
It must be performed by a certified cosmetic surgeon at an accredited facility.
5. Important note regarding age
-
Chin liposuction is an invasive procedure and is not suitable for people under 18 years old .
-
During adolescence, the chin and neck area is still developing, and the amount of fat and facial features change naturally during puberty. Early intervention is unnecessary and may carry risks.

Method 4: MST operation (MST thread tensioning)
1. What is MST operation?
-
MST (mastoid-spanning tensor thread) is a procedure for lifting the neck with threads .
-
The doctor inserts a thread with small barbs into the tissue and muscle layer of the neck.
-
These spikes are hooked onto fixed points to pull and lift the skin, helping the neck area look tighter and younger .
2. How the trick works
-
The threads should only be inserted under the skin in a direction that helps to shape and support the neck area.
-
Because it doesn't involve major incisions, it's less invasive than a traditional neck lift.
-
The skin is lifted immediately after the procedure and gradually improves as new collagen forms around the threads.
3. Advantages and safety level
-
Considered minimally invasive , with a quick recovery time.
-
Side effects are usually mild, if any: slight swelling, tightness, or discomfort for a few days.
-
However, it is not as effective as surgery and is not suitable for cases of excessively sagging skin.
4. Important note regarding age
-
MST is an invasive cosmetic procedure and should only be performed by a certified cosmetic surgeon.
-
Not suitable for people under 18 , as the skin and tissue structure in teenagers is still very healthy, elastic, and does not require thread lifting.
5. When should adults consider MST?
-
When the neck area sags mildly to moderately.
-
When you want to improve your appearance but don't want surgery.
-
Once the doctor has determined that it is appropriate.

Option 5: Chin implant
1. What is a chin implant?
-
This is a procedure that involves placing a chin implant (usually made of medical-grade silicone) in front of the jawbone.
-
The goal is to make the chin more prominent and balanced , creating a more defined jawline.
-
When the chin is lifted to the correct proportion, the skin under the chin can be gently tightened , making the area look less saggy and reducing the appearance of a double chin.
2. When is chin augmentation indicated for adults?
-
A weak or receding chin causes the skin under the chin to bunch up easily.
-
The face appears asymmetrical from a side view.
-
Adults who want to improve their jawline but don't want to have neck skin removed .
-
If there is still excess fat in the chin, liposuction can be combined to achieve a more defined result.
3. Effectiveness and Implementation Process
-
The results were noticeable immediately after surgery and gradually stabilized over several weeks.
-
The procedure is performed through a small incision in the mouth or under the chin, and the implant is placed in the prepared cavity.
-
It requires post-operative care and monitoring from a cosmetic surgeon.
4. Risks and safety levels
-
As with any surgery, swelling, bruising, implant displacement, or infection are potential risks.
-
This procedure should only be performed at a reputable medical facility by a certified specialist.
5. A very important note regarding age.
-
Chin implant surgery is an invasive procedure and is not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age .
-
During adolescence, the face—including the chin—is still developing naturally, and surgical intervention could affect its structure later in life.

Method 6: Z-plasty
1. What is Z-plasty?
-
Z-plasty is essentially a scar reshaping surgery that redirects scars into natural skin folds, making them less visible.
-
In some cases, Z-plasty is also used to tighten and smooth the skin under the chin if there is slight excess skin.
2. How does the surgery work?
-
The doctor created two triangular skin flaps in a Z-shape.
-
These two skin flaps are swapped and stitched together, allowing the underlying skin to be naturally stretched.
-
The primary goal remains scar improvement , but some adults with slightly loose neck skin may also experience the added skin tightening effect.
3. Advantages and Disadvantages
-
Advantages: improves scarring, increases skin smoothness under the chin, less invasive than a full neck lift.
-
Limit:
-
It may leave more noticeable scars compared to other cosmetic procedures.
-
The skin tightening effect is not as strong as that of neck or face lift surgeries.
-
-
Some adult men choose Z-plasty because beards can cover scars , avoiding the need for more extensive surgery.
4. Safety and age issues
-
This is an invasive surgery and should only be performed by a certified plastic surgeon.
-
A thorough assessment of the skin, tissue, and structure of the chin and neck is necessary before proceeding.
-
Not suitable for people under 18 , because:
-
Teenage skin and tissue are still elastic and do not require surgery.
-
The jawbone and facial structures are still developing naturally.
-
Gentle care measures are much safer.
-

Question 1: What causes sagging neck skin or a double chin?
1. Aging reduces collagen and skin elasticity.
-
As we age, the body naturally reduces its production of collagen and elastin .
-
The skin in the jawline and neck area loses elasticity, easily sagging and accumulating under the chin.
-
This is a normal process that everyone goes through, only the speed differs.
2. Genetic factors
-
If either your father or mother has a sagging neck or double chin, you are more likely to experience the same condition.
-
The structure of the jawbone, skin, fat, and muscles all have genetic factors that influence the firmness of the neck.
3. Changes appear at different times in each person.
-
Some adults begin to see sagging breasts in their late 20s–30s .
-
For others, the effects may not become more noticeable until they are 40–50 years old .
-
The rate of aging is influenced by both genes and lifestyle habits.
4. Weight gain increases fat under the chin.
-
Fat accumulation under the skin of the chin can easily create the appearance of a double chin, even if the skin isn't excessively loose.
-
This is one of the most common causes of double chin.
5. Lifestyle habits that weaken the skin on the neck.
-
Smoking , poor nutrition, or excessive sun exposure weaken the skin more quickly.
-
Sunlight severely damages collagen, making the skin on the neck prone to wrinkles and sagging prematurely.
-
Prolonged head-down posture while using a phone can also cause the skin under the chin to sag.
6. Some medications can cause fat accumulation in the neck and chin area.
-
Certain types of steroids or HIV medications can cause fat to accumulate in the neck.
-
This is a rare situation and only occurs with prescription medications, so consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

Question 2: Can the skin under the chin be tightened?
1. The skin under the chin can be tightened, but the degree of tightening depends on the method used.
-
For adults, cosmetic procedures such as laser, ultrasound, injections, or surgery can provide noticeable results for sagging neck skin.
-
However, these are all medical interventions , intended only for individuals 18 years of age or older and must be evaluated by a qualified physician.
2. Natural remedies can support but cannot replace medical procedures.
-
Neck and chin exercises, warm massage, moisturizing, and sun protection cannot completely fix sagging skin , but they can:
-
Increase the strength of the muscles that support the neck area.
-
Improves blood circulation.
-
Reduce the feeling of a double chin caused by poor posture.
-
Supports healthier and more elastic skin in the long term.
-
-
These are safe and appropriate measures for all ages , especially if you are a teenager.
3. Why is it difficult to tighten sagging neck skin using natural methods?
-
When collagen decreases, the skin loses its elasticity.
-
There are no exercises that can directly stimulate collagen production to restore skin firmness.
-
These exercises only help to change muscles and posture, so the effects are usually mild and gradual , but still beneficial.

Question 3: Why do the skin on the neck and chin change so quickly?
1. Skin begins to lose firmness after the age of 30.
-
Around the age of 35 , the dermis layer of the skin begins to slow down its production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid .
-
These are the components that help keep skin firm, smooth, and elastic. When they decrease, the skin becomes loose, prone to sagging , and loses its shape.
2. Facial fat tends to "slide down" as the skin weakens.
-
When the skin no longer holds its structure well, the natural fat deposits on the face (in the cheeks, around the eyes, and temples) can shift down to the jawline and neck.
-
This makes the lower part of the face look bigger and heavier , creating the appearance of a double chin or sagging neck.
3. Changes in facial shape over time
-
Dermatologists often describe the face of a healthy, young person as an inverted triangle : wide at the top and tapering at the chin.
-
As we age, this triangle reverses : skin and fat accumulate more in the jaw-chin-neck area, making the face appear wider or sag downwards.
4. This happens quickly in some people due to a number of factors.
-
Genetic factors.
-
Lifestyle habits (sun exposure, smoking, poor nutrition).
-
Collagen loss can occur suddenly due to stress, lack of sleep, or rapid weight loss.
-
Prolonged periods of bending your head down can cause skin sagging in the neck and chin area.

Không biết có phải do tập hay do mình… giảm ăn khuya nữa.
