Passive income streams: 4 ideas to make money without working
Amidst rising costs, many are turning to passive income as a sustainable financial solution. This article shares 4 ideas for earning money without working, from smart investing, renting assets, to earning money online. These methods help you create stable income streams, reduce financial pressure, and move closer to financial freedom.
Amidst rising living costs, many Vietnamese people are starting to look for ways to earn money without working full-time. According to recent personal finance surveys, more and more people are interested in building passive income to have a stable source of money in addition to their monthly salary.
Simply put, passive income is money you receive without having to work continuously every day. This can be money from investments, property rentals, automated online businesses, or other passive income sources that help money continue to generate money even when you are resting.
Of course, there is no way to get rich instantly without any effort. However, if you know how to leverage the right methods and persistently build passive income streams, you can certainly create a stable cash flow, reduce financial pressure, and gradually move closer to financial freedom.
In this article, you will discover popular and easy-to-implement ways to generate passive income that are suitable for many people in Vietnam today. These tips can help you start earning money even without a traditional job.
Idea 1: Earning money outside of a traditional job
Method 1: Renting out rooms to generate passive income
Utilize spare rooms in your house to earn money
-
If you have a spare room or an underutilized floor in your house, you can clean it up, furnish it with basic necessities, and then rent out the room to create a stable monthly passive income.
-
The initial main task is simply to prepare a clean room with a bed, wardrobe, internet, and some essential amenities so that the tenant can move in immediately.
-
Once you have a stable tenant, you almost only need to manage the rent periodically, without having to work every day like a full-time job.
The more private the room, the higher the rent
-
Rental prices depend heavily on the level of privacy and amenities in the room.
-
For example:
-
Private bedrooms in a house generally have lower prices.
-
Rooms with a private bathroom are easier to rent.
-
If you have a separate small apartment (basement or separate floor) with a kitchen and bathroom, you can rent it out for a significantly higher price.
-
-
Therefore, if you want to increase passive income from renting out a property, improve basic amenities such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a small kitchen, or a private entrance.
Choose reliable tenants to avoid risks
-
For renting out a room in your house to be stable long-term, choosing the right tenant is crucial.
-
Some steps to take before renting:
-
Clearly discuss rent, payment schedule, and house rules.
-
Ask for information about the tenant's job or source of income.
-
Request references or contact information for previous landlords if available.
-
Sign a rental agreement to avoid disputes later.
-
-
These simple steps help reduce risks and ensure a stable passive income each month.
Utilize short-term rental platforms to increase income
-
In addition to long-term rentals, you can also list your room on short-term rental platforms like Airbnb.
-
Benefits of this method:
-
You can charge per night, which is usually higher than monthly rentals.
-
Attracts tourists or business travelers for short stays.
-
Flexible room usage when needed.
-
-
However, you will need to prepare the room for cleanliness more often and respond to guests more quickly than with long-term rentals.
Tips to increase effectiveness when renting out rooms
-
Take clear, bright, and tidy photos of the room when posting the listing.
-
Write a detailed description of the location, amenities, and house rules.
-
Set a reasonable rental price based on room prices in the area.

Method 2: Earn money online from home
Build a website or blog to generate income
-
One of the popular ways to earn money online is to create a personal website or blog about a topic you know well.
-
When your website gets a lot of traffic, you can earn money from advertising, sponsored posts, or affiliate marketing.
-
Basic steps to get started:
-
Choose a topic with high search volume, such as personal finance, health, technology, or study tips.
-
Create a website and publish useful content that directly addresses readers' problems.
-
Optimize for SEO to increase organic traffic from Google.
-
Once traffic is stable, you can place ads or collaborate with brands.
-
-
Besides blogging, you can also create video content or online educational content to attract viewers.
Sell knowledge and specialized content
-
If you have knowledge or skills in a specific field, you can earn money online by selling digital content.
-
Some common forms include:
-
Writing instructional e-books on a specific topic.
-
Organizing webinars or online courses.
-
Creating skill-based video tutorials such as language learning, professional skills, or academic knowledge.
-
-
Digital content has the advantage of being created once but sold many times, making it a form of passive income on the internet.
Work as a freelancer or online assistant
-
If you want to earn money online faster, you can start with freelance work.
-
Some common jobs include:
-
Freelance writing for websites or businesses.
-
Working as a virtual assistant to help manage emails, data, or work schedules.
-
Translation, data entry, or social media management.
-
-
How to get started:
-
Create a personal profile showcasing your skills.
-
Find freelancer recruitment websites or remote job boards.
-
Take on small projects first to build credibility and good reviews.
-

Method 3: Earn money from royalties
Create creative products to receive royalties
-
One way to build long-term passive income is to create products that generate royalties. When a product is used or resold, you continue to receive money without doing additional work.
-
Some common forms include:
-
Writing books or e-books and receiving royalties each time they are sold.
-
Composing music and receiving money when the song is released or used.
-
Designing products or inventing ideas and licensing their use to businesses.
-
-
The key is that you need to invest a lot of initial effort to create quality products. If the product is well-received by the market, passive income from royalties can last for many years.
Understand the opportunities and risks of royalties
-
Not all products become popular, so the potential for generating a large income from royalties is often not high.
-
However, when a product becomes widely known, you can continue to receive money without doing additional work for each sale or use of the product.
-
This is why many people consider royalty income to be one of the most attractive passive income sources in the creative field.
Buy royalty rights for investment
-
In addition to creating your own products, you can also buy royalty rights from existing products.
-
Some royalty rights are sometimes resold through auctions or investment agreements.
-
Before investing, the following steps should be taken:
-
Thoroughly research the product's current revenue.
-
Analyze market trends and long-term popularity.
-
Calculate the payback period and expected profits.
-
-
Careful research helps reduce risks and sustainably increase the potential for a passive income stream from royalties.

Method 4: Earning money from short-term jobs
Do short-term jobs for flexible earnings
-
If you don't want a full-time job, short-term gigs can help create an additional flexible income stream.
-
These jobs often only require a few hours a day and can be done online or at a location near you.
-
Before accepting a job, it's advisable to carefully check the payment method, payment schedule, and reputation of the employer to avoid risks.
Participate in surveys and market research
-
A common way to earn money online easily is to participate in market research activities.
-
For example:
-
Participate in focus groups to share opinions on new products or services.
-
Test mock juries and provide your perspective on a legal situation.
-
-
These activities usually pay for listening, evaluating, and sharing personal opinions.
Do online surveys to earn extra money
-
Paid online surveys are a quick and easy way to earn a small extra income.
-
Participants simply answer questions about consumer habits, products, or services.
-
Some popular survey platforms include:
-
SurveySavvy
-
SurveySpot
-
-
Each survey typically takes only a few minutes, and you'll receive rewards or redeemable points upon completion.
Test websites for money
-
Some companies pay users to experience new websites and share their feedback.
-
Tasks typically include:
-
Visiting a test website or application.
-
Performing certain actions as instructed.
-
Recording impressions of the interface and user experience.
-
-
A prominent platform in this field is UserTesting.
Become a mystery shopper
-
If you enjoy shopping or dining at restaurants, you might try mystery shopping.
-
Your tasks include:
-
Visiting a store or restaurant as an ordinary customer.
-
Observing service quality, staff attitude, and the shopping experience.
-
Submitting an evaluation report to a market research company.
-
-
Depending on the project, you may receive payment or a refund for products and services used.
-
Job opportunities are often posted through organizations like the Mystery Shopping Providers Association.

Method 5: Selling items to earn extra money
Sell unused items
-
If you have many unused items at home, you can resell them to earn quick cash. This is a simple way to turn old items into an additional income source.
-
Some popular platforms for selling online include:
-
eBay
-
Amazon
-
Craigslist
-
-
Items that are often easy to sell:
-
Used books
-
Electronics
-
Good condition clothing
-
Rarely used household items
-
-
By taking clear photos, writing honest descriptions, and setting reasonable prices, you can quickly find buyers.
Sell handmade products or crafts
-
If you are skilled with your hands, you can earn money from handmade items such as decorations, accessories, crafts, or gifts.
-
A prominent platform for handmade products is Etsy.
-
Basic steps:
-
Create unique, personalized products.
-
Take beautiful and detailed product photos.
-
Write detailed descriptions so buyers understand the product's value.
-
-
Handmade products with a distinct style are often easy to build a personal brand and a stable online income source.
Buy low, sell high for profit
-
Another way to earn money by selling items is to buy products at a low price and resell them for a higher price.
-
Places often having good deals on items:
-
Used goods markets
-
Flea markets or garage sales
-
Second-hand stores
-
-
Steps to take:
-
Find items that still have value but are selling cheap.
-
Check the product's condition before buying.
-
Resell them on e-commerce platforms at a reasonable price.
-
-
Items like books, collectibles, or small electronics are typically easy to store and ship.
Sell directly if you don't want to sell online
-
If you don't want to sell online, you still have many other options to earn money from used items.
-
Some popular methods:
-
Organize a garage sale at home.
-
Rent a booth at a flea market or craft fair.
-
Sell at local markets.
-
-
This method helps you quickly sell many items at once and eliminates the need for shipping as with online sales.

Method 6: Asking for money in public
Understand the reality of panhandling
-
In some difficult circumstances, people choose to ask for money in public (panhandling) to make ends meet.
-
This activity often takes place in crowded areas such as pedestrian streets, large intersections, or near shopping centers.
-
However, this is not a stable or sustainable income source, as income depends entirely on the help of others and weather conditions.
Choose a safe and crowded location
-
If someone chooses this method, the most important factor is personal safety and the surrounding environment.
-
Some commonly mentioned principles:
-
Choose public areas with high foot traffic.
-
Avoid deserted or unsafe areas.
-
Comply with local laws and regulations as many places restrict soliciting in public.
-
Personal image affects support
-
When asking for money, how others perceive you can affect their willingness to help.
-
Typically, those asking for money need to:
-
Clearly show they need support.
-
Maintain a polite attitude, avoiding making others feel threatened or bothered.
-
-
In reality, attitude and communication style can largely determine whether passersby will help.
Street performance for financial support
-
Some people, instead of directly asking for money, will perform on the street to receive money from spectators.
-
For example:
-
Playing musical instruments
-
Singing or performing art
-
Performing magic or demonstrating skills
-
-
This form is often seen as street art performance, where viewers voluntarily donate money after enjoying the act.
Consider more sustainable income options
-
Although it can provide short-term cash, asking for money on the street is often not a long-term financial solution.
-
Many people now choose more practical ways to generate income, such as:
-
Earning money online
-
Doing freelance work
-
Selling online or small business
-
-
These options help build stable and long-term income sources, instead of relying on temporary support from others.

Idea 2: Smart investments to make money grow
Method 1: Lending money for interest
Lending money to generate income from interest
-
If you have idle money, a common way to generate passive financial income is to lend it to others and collect periodic interest.
-
The basic principle is simple:
-
Lend a sum of money to a borrower.
-
Agree on an interest rate and repayment period.
-
Receive both principal and interest according to the agreed-upon terms.
-
-
When well-managed, this method can create a stable cash flow without daily work.
Using peer-to-peer lending platforms
-
Currently, many financial platforms connect lenders and borrowers through a peer-to-peer lending (P2P lending) model.
-
Some prominent platforms that were strong in this field include:
-
Prosper
-
LendingClub
-
-
How it generally works:
-
Investors provide capital to borrowers.
-
The platform manages loan applications and payments.
-
Lenders receive interest from the loan over time.
-
Assess risks before lending
-
While lending for interest can generate profits, there are also risks if borrowers don't repay on time.
-
Before lending, you should take the following steps:
-
Check the borrower's financial capacity.
-
Determine an appropriate interest rate for the risk.
-
Do not lend all the money you have.
-
Diversify your capital across multiple loans to reduce risk.
-
Comply with legal regulations
-
When participating in lending money for interest, you need to comply with legal regulations in your place of residence.
-
Some regions have specific regulations on:
-
Maximum interest rates
-
Loan agreements
-
Personal lending activities
-
-
Understanding legal regulations helps you protect your financial interests and avoid legal risks when participating in lending activities.

Method 2: Depositing money to earn interest
Putting idle money into interest-bearing accounts
-
If you keep money in a regular checking account or cash, that money will generate almost no profit.
-
Instead, you can transfer it to savings or investment accounts with interest rates to generate passive income from idle money.
-
Some common forms:
-
Money market account
-
Certificate of deposit (CD)
-
Retirement funds or long-term investment accounts like 401(k)
-
-
These accounts typically have higher interest rates than regular savings accounts, helping your money grow over time.
Consult with a bank to choose a suitable option
-
If you are unfamiliar with financial products, you should talk to a bank professional for guidance.
-
They can help you:
-
Choose the right account type for your financial goals.
-
Determine the initial deposit amount.
-
Understand how interest is calculated and when it will be received.
-
-
Choosing the right product can help you build a safe passive income stream from bank interest.
Understand the conditions before depositing money
-
Some interest-bearing accounts have certain conditions that you need to be aware of before participating:
-
May require a minimum balance to start earning interest.
-
Some deposits require money to be held for a long period.
-
If you withdraw early, you may have to pay fees or lose a portion of the interest.
-
-
Therefore, before depositing money, consider your financial goals and future money needs.
Leverage compound interest to increase passive income
-
When interest continues to be added to the principal and continues to earn interest, you will benefit from compound interest.
-
Over time, compound interest can help assets grow significantly, even if you don't have to do any additional work.

Method 3: Profitable stock investment
Investing in stocks to generate market income
-
One of the common ways to build passive investment income is to participate in the stock market.
-
When buying company stocks, you can earn money in two ways:
-
Dividends: money that a company pays to its shareholders.
-
Stock price difference when sold.
-
-
However, stock investment always carries risks, as stock prices can rise or fall with the market.
Only invest money you can afford to lose
-
An important principle when investing in stocks is not to use money needed for essential expenses.
-
Some basic notes:
-
Only invest idle money.
-
Prepare psychologically for market fluctuations.
-
Do not borrow money to invest if you are inexperienced.
-
-
Good risk management helps you maintain a long-term investment strategy.
Use low-cost trading platforms
-
There are now many online stock trading platforms that allow investors to buy and sell stocks themselves.
-
Advantages of these platforms:
-
Low transaction fees
-
Easy portfolio tracking
-
Proactive asset management
-
-
This is a suitable option for those who want to invest in stocks themselves instead of paying for asset management services.
Build a suitable investment strategy
-
There are many different stock investment strategies, and each person can choose one that suits their financial goals.
-
Some popular strategies:
-
Long-term investment in fundamentally sound businesses.
-
Value investing based on financial analysis.
-
Dividend investing to create stable cash flow.
-
-
Before applying any strategy, you should thoroughly research the market and the business.
Diversify your investment portfolio
-
An important principle in safe stock investing is not to concentrate all your money in one stock.
-
You should:
-
Allocate capital to many different sectors.
-
Combine various asset types in your portfolio.
-
Hold stocks for a long time instead of frequently buying and selling.
-
-
Diversifying your investment portfolio helps reduce risk and increase opportunities for asset growth over time.

Method 4: Invest in businesses
Contribute capital to a business for long-term income
-
Another way to build passive income from investments is to contribute capital to an operating business.
-
When a business develops well, investors can receive profits from:
-
Share of business profits
-
Increase in business value over time
-
-
However, finding potential businesses to invest in is often not easy and requires thorough research.
Evaluate the business's leadership team
-
A crucial factor when investing in a business is the competence of the management team.
-
Even with a good business idea, a company can still fail if its leaders lack experience.
-
Before investing, you should research:
-
The experience of the CEO or founder
-
Previous business achievements
-
How they manage their team and development strategy
-
-
Investors often prioritize businesses with transparent and trustworthy leadership teams.
Financial analysis and market potential
-
To reduce risk when contributing capital to a business, it is essential to understand the business's financial situation.
-
Some factors to analyze:
-
Operating costs and expansion costs.
-
Current revenue and growth potential.
-
Target market and competitive landscape.
-
Brand value and company image.
-
-
This information helps you assess the profitability of your investment.
Sign clear investment contracts
-
When contributing capital to a business, a detailed investment contract is necessary to protect your rights.
-
The contract should clarify:
-
Share percentage or profit distribution.
-
Decision-making or voting rights.
-
Conditions for capital withdrawal or share transfer.
-
-
Having a clear written agreement helps avoid future disputes.
Diversify investments to reduce risk
-
You should not put all your money into a single business.
-
If a business encounters difficulties, you could lose a large portion of your investment capital.
-
Investors often apply the principle of:
-
Allocating capital to various investment opportunities.
-
Combining business investments, stocks, and other assets.
-
-
This approach helps build a balanced and sustainable investment portfolio over time.

Method 5: House flipping for profit
Understand the house flipping model
-
House flipping is buying a low-priced property, then increasing its value and reselling it for a profit.
-
Property value can increase due to:
-
Renovating and repairing houses to improve quality.
-
Waiting for the real estate market to appreciate.
-
-
If the right property is chosen and costs are reasonably calculated, each house flipping transaction can yield significant profits.
Thoroughly research the local real estate market
-
Before investing, you need to understand the local real estate market.
-
Factors to analyze:
-
Average house prices in the area.
-
Rate of real estate price appreciation.
-
Demand for housing from residents.
-
Infrastructure, amenities, and development potential.
-
-
Thorough research helps reduce the risk of buying high but not being able to sell.
Prepare for renovation costs and project management
-
In many cases, old houses need renovation before being resold.
-
Some common costs include:
-
Repairing electrical and plumbing systems
-
Repainting the house or upgrading interiors
-
Renovating the kitchen and bathroom
-
-
If you can't repair it yourself, you can hire a contractor, but you still need to supervise the work to control costs.
Managing risks when flipping houses
-
Flipping real estate can be highly profitable but also carries inherent risks.
-
Some common risks include:
-
Unexpected repair costs.
-
Declining real estate market.
-
Slow house sales, leading to increased financial costs.
-
-
Therefore, investors often prepare an emergency budget before starting a project.
The "flip" model can be applied to many other types of assets
-
If you don't have enough capital to invest in real estate, you can still apply the principle of buy low – renovate – resell to other products.
-
For example:
-
Used furniture
-
Used motorcycles or cars
-
Used electronics
-
-
The basic process:
-
Find products at a low price.
-
Repair or refurbish.
-
Resell at a higher price.
-
-
This is how many people start arbitrage businesses before moving on to larger investments such as real estate.

Idea 3: Quick loans: A safe choice
Method 1: Short-term payday loans
Understanding what a payday loan is
-
Payday loans are a form of short-term loan for individuals who have an income but need urgent cash before their next payday.
-
Loans typically have the following characteristics:
-
Loan amounts are not excessively large.
-
Repayment periods are very short, usually until the next payday.
-
Applications can be made online or at direct lending locations.
-
-
This is a temporary financial solution when emergency cash is needed.
How payday loans work
-
The loan process is usually quite simple:
-
Borrowers provide personal information and income source.
-
Lenders quickly approve the loan.
-
Borrowers receive the money immediately and commit to repaying both principal and fees by the next payday.
-
-
Due to the simple procedure, this form is often advertised as quick loans with minimal paperwork.
Beware of very high interest rates
-
The biggest caveat with payday loans is their extremely high interest rates and fees.
-
If not repaid on time, the total cost of the loan can quickly increase and create significant financial pressure.
-
Therefore, before borrowing, you should:
-
Calculate your ability to repay on time.
-
Read the contract terms carefully.
-
Compare with other loan options that have lower costs.
-
Only use in emergencies
-
Financial experts often recommend using short-term payday loans only when absolutely necessary.
-
For example:
-
Emergency medical expenses
-
Unexpected home or car repairs
-
Mandatory expenses before payday
-
-
In many cases, other options such as emergency savings or traditional bank loans will be safer in the long run.

Method 2: Cash withdrawal from credit cards
Understanding cash advances from credit cards
-
Cash advances from credit cards are a way to withdraw money directly from your credit card limit when you need urgent cash.
-
Users can do this in the following ways:
-
Withdraw cash at an ATM using a credit card.
-
Use cash advance checks provided by the bank.
-
Perform cash advances through banking services.
-
-
This amount will be added to your credit card balance and needs to be repaid later.
How credit card cash advances work
-
The usage process is quite simple:
-
Check the cash advance limit on your credit card.
-
Withdraw cash at an ATM or use a check issued by the bank.
-
The withdrawn amount will be added to the credit card balance that needs to be paid.
-
-
Unlike card payments, cash advances usually do not have an interest-free period.
Interest rates and fees are usually high
-
One important point to note is that cash advances from credit cards often come with high costs.
-
Common costs include:
-
Cash withdrawal fees immediately upon transaction.
-
Higher interest rates than regular purchases.
-
Interest starts accruing from the moment of withdrawal.
-
-
Therefore, the total cost of the withdrawn amount can increase rapidly if not paid off early.
Read the terms carefully before using
-
Before using credit card cash advance services, you should carefully check the following information:
-
The cash withdrawal fee.
-
Applicable interest rate for the cash advance.
-
Interest calculation period and method.
-
-
Reading the terms carefully helps you understand the total cost of borrowing money from a credit card and avoid unexpected fees.
Only use when absolutely necessary
-
Due to high costs, many financial experts recommend using credit card cash advances only in emergency situations.
-
If possible, other solutions should be prioritized, such as:
-
Using personal savings
-
Borrowing from a bank with lower interest rates
-
-
Proper credit card management will help you avoid debt pressure and high financial costs.

Method 3: Borrowing from a bank when in need of money
Explore different types of bank loans
-
When a large sum of money is needed, many people choose to borrow from banks or credit institutions.
-
Banks typically offer various personal finance loan products, such as:
-
Secured loans against assets like houses or land.
-
Unsecured personal loans based on income and credit history.
-
-
Each type of loan will have different conditions, interest rates, and repayment periods.
Secured Loans (Mortgage Loans)
-
Some loans require collateral, such as a house or real estate.
-
How this type of loan works:
-
The borrower uses an asset as collateral.
-
The bank grants the loan based on the asset's value.
-
If the debt cannot be repaid, the bank has the right to seize the collateral.
-
-
Because there is collateral, mortgage interest rates are usually lower than unsecured loans.
Unsecured Loans (No Collateral Needed)
-
If you don't have collateral, you can still apply for an unsecured bank loan.
-
The bank will evaluate your application based on:
-
Monthly income
-
Credit history
-
Repayment capacity
-
-
This type of loan usually has faster procedures, but interest rates can be higher due to increased risk for the lender.
Compare Interest Rates Before Borrowing
-
Before deciding to borrow money, you should compare loan conditions between several banks.
-
Some factors to check include:
-
Loan interest rates
-
Service fees or processing fees
-
Repayment period
-
Early repayment conditions
-
-
Comparing helps you choose a loan that suits your financial capacity.
Consider Other Credit Institutions
-
In addition to commercial banks, many people also consider borrowing from credit unions.
-
These institutions sometimes offer:
-
Lower interest rates
-
More flexible loan conditions
-
Lower service fees
-
-
No matter which option you choose, understanding the loan terms will help you avoid financial pressure and manage debt more effectively.

Method 4: Borrow money from friends or relatives
Understand the risks of borrowing from acquaintances
-
Borrowing money from friends or relatives is an option many people choose when they need money quickly and don't want to go to a bank.
-
However, this can affect personal relationships if repayment doesn't happen as agreed.
-
Therefore, before borrowing, both parties should clearly understand the borrower's responsibilities and financial capacity.
Clear Agreement from the Start
-
To avoid misunderstandings, specific loan terms should be agreed upon.
-
Important points to discuss include:
-
The loan amount and its purpose.
-
The estimated repayment period.
-
Whether there will be interest or support fees.
-
-
A clear agreement helps both parties feel comfortable and reduces the risk of disputes.
Be Honest About Repayment Ability
-
When borrowing money from acquaintances, honesty and transparency are the most important factors.
-
The borrower should:
-
Clearly state when repayment can be made.
-
Notify early if facing difficulties with payment.
-
Keep commitments to maintain trust.
-
-
Frankness helps protect long-term personal relationships.
It is advisable to have a written record
-
Even when borrowing between relatives, documenting the agreement in writing is very helpful.
-
A simple record can include:
-
Loan amount
-
Repayment period
-
Signatures of both parties
-
-
This helps avoid misunderstandings and creates clarity during the loan repayment process.

Idea 4: Get money easily without effort
Method 1: Inherit assets from relatives
Understand that inheritance is an uncertain source of finance
-
Inheriting assets is money or property you may receive when a relative leaves it to you through a will.
-
However, this is not a source of income that can be actively generated, as it depends entirely on the decision of the person leaving the assets.
-
Inherited assets can include:
-
Cash or savings
-
Real estate
-
Stocks or other investments
-
-
Therefore, inheritance is often seen as an unexpected source of assets, not a long-term financial plan.
The Role of a Will in Asset Distribution
-
When a person passes away, their will determines how assets are distributed to their relatives.
-
A will usually specifies:
-
Who will receive the assets.
-
The type of assets being left behind.
-
How assets are divided among each heir.
-
-
If there is no will, assets are usually distributed according to inheritance laws.
Maintain Good Family Relationships
-
Family relationships should always be built on affection and respect, not on financial gain.
-
Caring for and attending to elderly relatives should stem from love and family responsibility.
-
In reality, values such as trust, affection, and family bonding are far more important than any inherited assets.
Focus on Building Personal Finances
-
Instead of relying on inheritance money, many financial experts recommend actively building personal finances.
-
Some common ways include:
-
Long-term investing
-
Creating passive income streams
-
Effective spending management and saving
-
-
These steps help you create a stable financial foundation for yourself, instead of relying on uncontrollable factors.

Method 2: Buy lottery tickets to try your luck
Understand Lottery Chances Correctly
-
Buying lottery tickets is one of the simplest ways to try your luck with a small amount of money.
-
Lottery tickets are usually sold at grocery stores, lottery agents, or convenience stores, and the price of each ticket is often quite low.
-
However, the chances of winning a big prize are very low, so players should not view the lottery as a stable source of income.
Accept the possibility of losing money beforehand
-
When buying lottery tickets, a crucial principle is to always be prepared to lose the entire amount you've spent.
-
Although buying tickets is a prerequisite for a chance to win, the probability of winning a big prize is usually very small.
-
Therefore, many financial experts recommend viewing lotteries only as a form of entertainment, not a money-making scheme.
Manage your budget when buying lottery tickets
-
A common way to avoid overspending is to limit your lottery ticket budget.
-
For example:
-
Only dedicate a small amount each week or month.
-
Use surplus money after spending and saving.
-
-
Some people apply simple saving methods such as:
-
Reducing a few small expenses during the week.
-
Allocating that money to buy lottery tickets without affecting essential expenses.
-
View lottery tickets as a form of entertainment
-
If approached with the right mindset, buying lottery tickets can be a small, low-cost form of entertainment.
-
The important thing is not to depend on winning to solve financial problems.
-
For long-term financial goals, options such as saving, investing, and building passive income streams are often much more reliable than relying on lottery luck.

Method 3: Participate in prize competitions
Understand the money-making opportunities from competitions
-
Some contests or sweepstakes can offer valuable cash prizes or gifts to winners.
-
Similar to lotteries, the chance of winning is usually not high, but if you participate regularly, you still have the opportunity to receive cash prizes or valuable gifts.
-
This is often considered a way to try your luck, not a stable source of income.
Find free contests to enter
-
The advantage of many online contests is that you can participate for free.
-
Some popular ways to find contests:
-
Search for online contests on the internet.
-
Follow giveaway programs on brand social media.
-
Pay attention to promotional information on product packaging when shopping.
-
-
Many programs allow participation without purchasing products.
Track multiple contests to increase winning chances
-
If you want to increase your chances of winning, you can participate in various contests.
-
Some people follow sweepstakes aggregate newsletters to keep up with new programs instead of searching for each contest themselves.
-
This helps save time and ensures you don't miss out on gift opportunities.
Be wary of scams
-
When participating in contests or sweepstakes, be cautious of signs of scams.
-
Some important safety rules:
-
Do not pay any fees to receive prizes.
-
Do not provide credit card information for contests from unknown sources.
-
Limit sharing too much personal information when registering.
-
-
Legitimate contests typically do not require advance payment to receive prizes.
View contests as an entertainment activity
-
Participating in prize contests can bring joy and unexpected opportunities to receive gifts.
-
However, you should not rely on it to solve financial problems.
-
For long-term financial stability, many people still prioritize methods such as investing, small businesses, or creating stable passive income streams.

Practical ways to earn money
Find work you truly enjoy
-
In reality, most people still need to work or create value to earn money.
-
When choosing a job or a way to earn money, prioritize an area you are interested in to sustain it long-term.
-
Working in a field you enjoy helps you:
-
Be more persistent when facing difficulties
-
Improve skills over time
-
Increase opportunities to generate stable income
-
Learn from financially experienced people
-
A quick way to progress is to find a mentor with financial or business experience.
-
You can learn from them:
-
How to manage money effectively.
-
How to invest and save.
-
Mistakes to avoid when earning money.
-
-
Real-world experience from those who came before you helps avoid many financial risks.
Make and sell products yourself to earn money
-
If you're good with your hands, you can create products yourself and sell them for profit.
-
Some popular ideas:
-
Handicrafts or arts & crafts
-
Homemade cakes or food
-
Woodwork or DIY products
-
-
After selling products, it's advisable to keep the profits separate to avoid spending all the money you've worked hard to earn.
Do small jobs to earn extra money
-
You can also earn extra money by taking on small tasks or odd jobs.
-
For example:
-
Doing housework or odd jobs for family.
-
Taking on small jobs in your local area.
-
-
The important thing is to ask politely and respect others' decisions if they decline.
Organize a home yard sale
-
A simple way to get extra money is to sell items you no longer use.
-
Steps to follow:
-
Check and select items you no longer need.
-
Clean them and ensure they are still in good condition.
-
Sell them at a garage sale or yard sale.
-
-
This method both cleans up your house and generates cash.
Participate in online surveys
-
Some websites pay users for participating in online surveys.
-
For example: Swagbucks.
-
However, it's important to note:
-
Each survey usually pays a small amount.
-
Income mainly comes from bonuses accumulated over time.
-
Control impulsive spending
-
To manage money better, you can limit the cash you carry when shopping.
-
For example:
-
Only bring 5–10 dollars or a small amount of cash when you go to the store.
-
This helps you only buy what you really need.
-
Babysit for extra income
-
If you enjoy working with children, babysitting is a popular part-time job.
-
Before taking a job, it's advisable to:
-
Have childcare experience.
-
Have references from families who have hired you before.
-
-
This is a suitable job to earn extra money in your free time.
Avoid get-rich-quick schemes
-
Many advertisements promising quick riches often involve risks or scams.
-
A simple rule: if an opportunity sounds too good to be true, you should be cautious.
Invest only what you can afford to lose
-
All financial investments carry the risk of loss.
-
Therefore, you should only invest money you can afford to lose without affecting your life.
Avoid gambling if you are prone to addiction
-
If you tend to get easily caught up in gambling or games of chance, it's best to avoid them entirely.
-
These activities can lead to significant financial risks and have long-term impacts on your life.
